The Rift Valley is the largest geographical feature on the African continent. In Ethiopia it runs from the Red Sea coast to Lake Turkana, crossing the country from north-east to south-west.
The six main lakes are found in the rift: Ziway, Langano, Shala, Abyatta, Chamo, and Abaya. Tourists are attracted to this area by pleasant, warm climate, multitude of bird life, and an opportunity to relax, swim, and chill out at one of the resorts at Lake Langano or Lake Awassa
